I can see the argument for Ortiz, he has made some huge hits for the Sox. Between he and A-Rod the numbers are similar. Tied in HR's, Ortiz has 15 more RBI's and A-Rod has 15 points better BA. The difference, as PJ pointed out, is that A-Rod is a gold glove fielder. Ortiz is a liability on the field, which is why he DH's. That is the real difference, fielding.
