No, It's Very Un-American
I don't advocate punishing smokers, first of all. Tobacco companies made documents labeled "top secret" and "s-h-r-e-d" discussing how to make their products more addictive. People in third world countries, moreover, usually don't know that smoking will kill them, and now tobacco companies are killing off people in those countries as well (as if they don't have enough problems). We have to use national health insurance to help every American stop smoking and we have to forbid overseas marketing of tobacco products by American companies. Those companies will then go out of business without any punishment of smokers.
