Rape and mollestation are generally violent... or at least coercive.
And many rapists and mollesters become murderers in order to keep their crimes secret.
A lot of violent crimes happen similarly, but it's more to do with the lengths one will go to for control than just the use of violence.

An abusive spouse or a serial rapist is more likely to become a murderer than say a punk that just enjoys beating people up but shows no signs of going further.

In the UK Ian Brady the Moors Murderer a Bestial Man, he petitioned the Courts to allow him to commit suicide, rather than serve the rest of his Life sentence.

As a deterent the Death Penalty does not work.

As retributive Justice the Death Penalty does not work for me, it is insufficient(you could add a bit of torture like waterboarding before you terminate) that would be better!

A life sentence is far more Draconian hence the plea to die made by Brady, and that is why I am anti-capital punishment, or one of the reasons I should say. We do not have it here!

I think that the death penalty should be available for those criminals that want it. That could save money to be spent on issues like education and health care.
