You make a good point.
Morality, as we can see here as well as being "subjective" and "personal" is not "universal".
Moral "conflicts" produce opposing (and sometimes unreconcilable) opinions and views. Laws resolve these conflicts along democratic lines.
Laws disappoint many I am sure. Because, not only do laws supercede morality, many laws reflect "immoral" values for the social minority.
Democracy is not only about the rule of the majority, it is also about accepting that rule when one is in the minority.
