I hope that you are blessed enough to have a child in the future. I think this will change your p.o.v.
I can't tell you how insulting that is. Excuse me for actively supporting my class of "degenerates."

It's not selfishness...it's self-concern. I'm telling you that I would never be moronic enough to have an unwanted pregnancy...so while I would never need an abortion, other women DO. And here's why, this is the REAL debate. It's not about whether a fetus is human because OF COURSE it's a human. So.....why would a woman want to make an incredibly intimate decision at the expense of another human?

Did you know that only one out of every ten women who are raped report the incident? That's because the majority of them are raped by someone they know, someone in their social circle, so after reporting the incident both to police and friends, many women are met with the incredulity of their peers, not to mention ostracization, emotional distress, and risk of pregnancy and/or STD acquisition.

Now, I do not LIKE abortion. It's not a pleasant thing, but what bothers me is how so many pro-lifers assume that most women use it as a form of "birth control." "Whoops! I got pregnant! I'll just have an abortion."

I'm a volunteer at Planned Parenthood...I also go to a Catholic school, so everyday I see both sides of the debate. I can tell you, however, that the women who do get abortions are not the flippant fools you think they are. They are genuinely good people who've become victims of human error--be it through their own fallibility or faulty contraception.

THAT IS WHY ABORTION NEEDS TO REMAIN LEGAL. You want to get rid of it? I have a good plan: PROVIDE BETTER EDUCATION ON BIRTH CONTROL. That way the women who discreetly way the decision to have an abortion retain that right, and teens and adults alike have a better understanding of avoiding pregnancy in the first place.
