The trouble I have is that while the feminist ideal of the genders picking up elements of both sides is coming to pass, I personally think we're trading all the good traits for bad ones.
Most of the modern women are more aggressive, which can be good especially in this economy. They also seem to be dropping the compassion associated with femininity. And they still have the superficial streak with always worrying about their looks and crap like that. And they curse a lot more.
The modern men have not picked up the feminine compassion, but they have dropped a lot in motivation. And they've started getting superficial and worrying about what they look like and crap. They still curse a lot, only they've gotten more disgusting with it.
Both genders of this modern type seem to be more interested in free sex and a relationship to have one than a real relationship. They objectify one another almost completely but in a friendly way.
I don't know. Maybe I just wind up running into the weirdos. But it seems to me that now we have an entire population of self-centered, aggressive but unmotivated, compassionless, whiny, superficial people. At least with gender roles there was balance in likable human traits. Though the trouble with them is that the feminine ones were devalued (explaining why the good feminine attributes are being displaced by the bad male ones- I can't explain why the men are becoming feminized though but I'm sure cosmetic companies love it) and the roles were ascribed.
Oh well. My fiancee and I seem to have balancing traits, though not in the traditional sense. So maybe we are the hope. But we're not planning on having kids. So Ha Ha Ha Ha! Your world is going to be overrun with female corporate sharks and male metrosexual emos!
