None of the opposition to Alito is due to his judicial qualifications. Most reasonable Demoncrats are opposed to Alito because they fear that he will erode the balance of power between the presidency and the other parts of the government. That balance of power is what keeps the integrity of our system going over time just as the founding fathers set it up.

Anyone who fears a too large government should also fear an unbalance of power between the branches of government. It is very myopic to support an unbalance of powers just because your party is in at this time. Alito in my opinion may vary well be doing that.

I fear that he like other and some on this board are so arrogant right now when their boys are in that are not thinking that historically the pendulum can swing back.
