It's not about the right of society over the right of the mother, it's about when and if the fetus has a an unalienable right to life.
So then I presume you disagree with euthanasia?

But the fetus is not "alive" in a practical sense, technically yes, but not practically. While it still lies in the mother's womb, the mother is supporting the fetus. Until the child is born, breathing with its own lungs, capable of existing without direct support, its not practically alive, as it needs to be very literally live off its mother. (Nurturing is another thing...)

In other words, I don't believe in the rights of fetus'. This would also justify the law to punish mothers who do not do ALL possible things for the welfare of the fetus, as it would equal torture/mistreatment/attempted murder under law respecting the right of existence of fetus'.
