To be completely honest, I have always been fascinated with Judaism. In fact, I like the way that Christianity hinges on the basic facets of the Jewish faith. I have spent a lot of time reading the Old Testament about the Prophets and about Jewish history. It has had a huge influence on my life.
It might all have something to do with the fact that a lot of people think that I am Jewish because of my name (Joel... and my last name sounds very Jewish) and how I look. I have even considered converting, but I am pretty happy with my current church.
As for Mormonism, I could understand why that would match up with my beliefs. I admire the way that their group is organized but I don't like the fact that they have created their own separate fiath based off of a heretical book (book of Mormon). But my favorite politician, Mitt Romney is a mormon, so that might count for something.
For the creation question I put that the time was not meant to be literal... a day could equate to thousands or millions of years, etc.
