Default look at the numbers

Since Roe vs Wade, 43,000,000 lives have been lost to abortion (correct me if I'm wrong, but it's around there.)
It seems that some people are under the impression that just because a being can't speak means it also can't think.
I understand the debate about being pro choice, but how many of these are social decisions? Some people abort because their child has a defect of some sort, or because they can't support a baby in their lives. However, you can put up a child for abortion after birth fairly easily, can't you? What percent of abortions actually are performed because the mother's health is at risk?
You can't give a Malthusian excuse either. The average U.S. citizen throws away more than some nations' people eat daily. I doubt the additional citizens would have all of us starving.

I say we revert to the Hippocratic oath: Do what's best for the patients, female and fetus.

Of course, I'm male so people can just call me a sexist pig, but it's a chance I'm willing to take.
