What barney is addressing is the dual nature of Christ in most Christian theology. Christ was God, yet Christ was, in a sense, mortal. Christ's divine and human natures acted as one, providing an example of how we should seek to live and be one in Christ. The Holy Spirit placed Jesus in the family of Joseph and the Virgin Mary.
