I don't think the person who started this thread was necessarily advocating a ban on tobacco products. Regardless, I'm opposed to such a ban because, first, tobacco products don't impair judgment, so they are none of the government's business in most circumstances and, second, such a prohibition would be no more effective than the prohibition on alcohol was and would merely be a victory for organized crime.
