Yup.
Many years ago, in 1985-1986, when I was just a scared little boy all of 23 to 24 years of age, afflicted with a brain tumor and knowing that I was washing out of an MA in Mediaeval History, there were only two songs that would help me cry myself to sleep: Wham!, "Careless Whisper" and The Carpenters, "Superstar." Twenty years after the fact, I do now realize that I must have made quite a thorough annoyance of myself for so doing, but there were many nights that I would call DJ Sherry Markhort at her Magic's Memories till Midnight show at KMJI in Denver, Colorado, to request that she play "Careless Whisper" by Wham or "Superstar" by The Carpenters. All just so I could cry myself to sleep.
