The North pole is not a sovereign state. Its just a chunk of ice that belongs to nobody. Everyone pretty much agrees it belongs to no one, because its basically a useless chunk of ice that when it melts will become undoubtedly international waters anyways.

What state is this? who is their leader, santa claus? I say let Canada have it, Russia is already the biggest country on earth (10% of earth's landmass). He who controles the poles controls a lot of ice.

Harper is basically the best thing that happened to Canada in the last 50 years. For starters, he has a masters degree in economics, which means he knows something about economic policy, unlike all of the Liberals of came before him.

Harper and the Conservatives have reduced the sales tax, corporate tax, income tax, and increased the minimum basic exemption from 7000 to 10000 dollars. They have done all of this while maintaining a balanced budget. If only the provinces would lower their corporate taxes, Canada would have the lowest corporate taxes in the G8. Harper is trying to pass a bill to increase punishments for criminals, and another bill to scrap the useless 2 billion dollar gun registry and use the funds for more police, while at the same time resisting calls for handgun ban. A handgun ban/confiscation would cost 2 billion when all the owners are compensated, and will do nothing to reduce crime. He has also increased military spending to where Canada is no longer considered a joke.

Harper is the reason why Canada has not followed the US into a recession. His lower tax policies are permanent, substantive changes, and his spending is restrained and targeted, which has given Canada strength during tough economic times. The US on the other hand continues to spend out of control, and its best economic solution is a "band-aid" stimulus package which is failing to provide stability.
