I don't think Putin had anything to do with wmd going to Syria.

But nevertheless.....it wouldn't be the first time a nation has tried playing "both" sides of an issue. Putin was doing business with Saddam. But that doesn't mean he was above telling AFTER Saddam was captured what Russian intelligence was showing in 2001.
