Investigators are still collecting evidence, but Nifong has said in recent days he already believes a crime occurred. Even if the state crime lab’s DNA analysis proves inconclusive or doesn’t provide a match for any of the athletes, Nifong has said he’ll have other evidence.

“If the only thing that we ever have in this case is DNA, then we wouldn’t have a case,” Nifong said Wednesday.
If the lacrosse lawyer really does have time-stamped photos showing the stripper was already bruised when she arrived, the case is over. Nifong may very well believe that a crime occured. Maybe it did, but that's only part of what he has to prove. He was ready to try this case in the court of public opinion and that was wrong. I also hear that the other stripper does not support her story.

So you combine THAT with this

Quote:
According to the application for a court order seeking DNA samples from the team, a nurse trained to treat rape victims and a physician who treated the woman said they witnessed symptoms consistent with sexual assault. The document also includes details of a search of the house where the woman said she was raped for about a half-hour.

“The victim’s four red polished fingernails were recovered inside the residence consistent to her version of the attack. She claimed she was clawing at one of the suspect’s arms in an attempt to breath (sic) while being strangled. During that time the nails broke off,” the police statement said.

Officers who searched the house also recovered the woman’s makeup bag, cell phone and a stack of $20 bills consistent with the woman’s statement that $400 in cash was taken from her purse after the attack, the police statement said.

Police have also searched a second home occupied by lacrosse team members, but documents describing the location or what investigators found have been sealed by court order, prosecutors and police said.
I find it odd that the DA is willing to release any kind of info that points to guilt, but draws the line now. Raped for a half-hour and no DNA? Those fingernails should have plenty of it. The rapists should have scratches. Why did they do tests on all the white guys? Didn't she get a look at them?

And combine THAT with that fact these aren't some innocent little school boys here:

Quote:
Duke lacrosse players in trouble before
20 crimes in past year include underage drinking, public urination, noise

The March 13 off-campus party at which a woman was allegedly beaten and raped wasn't the first legal run-in for members of the Duke University men's lacrosse team, WNCN-TV reported Thursday.

WNCN-TV has uncovered court documents showing 15 members of the lacrosse team have been charged with at least 20 crimes in the past year. The charges include underage drinking, public urination, excessive noise and one instance in which a Duke student's debit card was stolen and used to purchase $100 in food.
I see no violent crimes on the list. We're talking about gang rape here. If we go into the credibility of the lacrosse team members, we'll have to take a look at the credibility of the stripper too.

Combine that with whatever other evidence the DA has that he's not releasing and I think we are FAR from case over here.

So as I said, we shall see how it goes, I wouldnt be dancing a jig just yet if I were you guys. Slow down, and lets see what happens.
They've already been found guilty. They're guilty of being privileged white snobs. Why did the DA release so much in the beginning?
