Default Taxes are due monday

Is it me, or have we heard this idea before?

Quote:
Have you ever fudged your taxes a little bit? Maybe you inflated a deduction by a few bucks, decided to underreport your income, or took advantage of a tax credit you weren’t really entitled to.

Should you have to live in fear of the IRS just because you didn’t do things the right way? We’ve all made mistakes and we’ve all taken shortcuts to get things we want.

The IRS spent nearly $6.4 BILLION (yes, BILLION) dollars in 2005 on enforcement activities alone. That goes up almost 8% in 2006, to $6.9 billion. Most of that money is spent finding and auditing returns from prior years.
