The President created a straw man issue to knock down when he proffered:
Quote:
“It is neither wise, nor realistic to round up millions of people, many with deep roots in the United States, and send them across the border.”
Deprive them of wage income by enforcing the existing laws which prohibit the hiring of illegal immigrants. Deprive them of all social services (excepting life saving medical attention). Deprive their children of the ability to attend school where the parent/guardian is undocumented. Do these things and they will either migrate elsewhere or return home ... soon, and on their own dime.
Again, the President asserted as impossible that which is very feasible, and in some instances already underway: the verification of the documents of immigrants, when he says
Quote:
“Many use forged documents to get jobs, and that makes it difficult for employers to verify that the workers they hire are legal.”
Go to this site and you will see the government already has an established protocol for verification of the immigrant’s legal eligibility:

Dubya is obviously pandering to the financial interests of business. Corporate America would have to pay American citizens (and legal immigrants) higher wages to perform the work now being accomplished at reduced wage rates by the undocumented, illegal aliens. He continues to make sure the USA has the best government money can buy.
