Default there's also another aspect to this "immigration" thing

People have been focusing on the old stereotype of the "illegal migrant worker" who crosses the border to take low-wage jobs that "no one else wants".

But here's another piece of this thing that y'all should be aware of (if you're not already).

It has to do with illegal immigrants that are sent here, for the specific purpose of engaging in underworld activities.

I'll give you a f'r-instance.

Black tar heroin is big business here in Los Angeles. 90% of it comes in from Mexico. It's all run by the "Mexican Mafia", which is powerful and well organized. It's sold in particular pockets of town, the best known of which is around McArthur Park.

I happen to know this one particular guy, who works for these people. It's a 9 to 5 job for him, just like a "real" job that you or I might have. He gets paid a pretty good hourly wage (he doesn't make any commission on his sales), and he gets exactly one hour off for lunch.

He also gets a benefit package, that includes medical insurance with dental and optical. He's married and has two kids, and his family gets insurance coverage as well (we're talking real legitimate insurance, like Blue Cross or Kaiser).

Anyway, the point is, that this guy's an illegal immigrant. He has false documentation that his bosses provided for him, which basically allows him to navigate our various systems as if he were a "real American".

He lives in a reasonable size apartment that's pretty far away from where he works. In all regards except what he does for a living, he lives an entirely normal familiy life. His wife and kids go to church every Sunday, his kids are enrolled in one of the local "magnet schools", and they speak English just as well as you or I do.

And here's the interesting part: his job involves "almost no" risk. He's been specifically trained for this kind of work, and the local cops have been paid (well paid) to ignore him - on sweep day they arrest everyone but him and his buddies. And if he ever should get arrested (by mistake or whatever), his "corporation" posts his bail and provides lawyers and so on.

When people like him have outlived their usefulness in a particular city or area, they're simply moved somewhere else, to a different city or a different area.

Now, my question is, do you hear Georgie talking about stuff like this? No, you don't. W doesn't want to acknowledge that situations like this even exist. But they do, I can assure you. They're very real. There are literally tens of thousands of people like this guy, right here in the Los Angeles area, and I'm sure there are similar numbers in other metropolitan areas.

Food for thought.....
