In the past, yes, most Muslims have taken the Qu'ran that way, and some extremists continue to do so today. Just like followers of the other Abrahamic religions have, and continue to, do. That does not mean that they are necessarily geared that way, it is just the way that their followers have taken them.

The lesson; religions can be the cause of, and justification for, spreading death and destruction.

Now did we really need four pages to come to that conclusion?
