Default Kyoto: Clinton never submitted for Ratification

And the reason he didn't submit it to Senate for ratification? Because after Clinton signed Kyoto, the Senate passed a resolution 97-0 stating they would not be a party to it.

97-0.

Would China ever avail its power to such a treaty.

Default Okay, but ...

So in order to make more money, we screw up the environment?

That doesn't seem wise to me. Am I nuts?

Change is not an automatic premise. In the meantime, I don't through trash out my car window; I recycle; I try to conserve how much water I use; I turn off power for things I am not using.....what the frick more can you ask?

BTW, environmentalists caused the problem with not having level 5 hurricane protection in New Orleans. They've had an injunction on upgrading the levies since 1974. So don't tell me I am not environmentally concerned.

Sure, why wouldn't China ratify the treaty, they are not going to be held to the same standards as the US.

"However, because China is regarded as a developing nation, it is not required to curb emissions. Instead, it would be eligible to earn credits by setting up emission-reducing projects and other so called clean development mechanisms."

This is just one example of why the Kyoto Treaty should never be ratified by the US, it punishes the United States while giving a free pass to the world's worst polluter.

Typical liberalism.

Yeah, why not ratify it. It doesn't ask them to curb emissions. Unlike us who have been the leaders in the world in cleaning up our enviroment/emissions.

I heard something about, even though we didn't ratify the treaty, our emissions have dropped more than Europe's.

I wonder if there is any validity to that? Has anyone else heard this?

Either way, as has been pointed out, China, the country which contributes the most Co2 of any country, doesn't have to curb their emissions.
