Most of the nastiest stuff is leftovers from pre-Islamic culture. Islam actually lightened it quite a bit, and at least set limits. There are Muslim feminists already claiming that the way women are treated is not a true interpretation of the Qu'uran. Right now they are being shut down by patriarchs who claim that they're just women and don't know what they're talking about... But once the Middle East becomes more modernized... don't expect this conservative resistance to hold.
Modernization is what gives women rights, not religion. Christianity used to be excessively sexist. Some of the gender traditions are still being fought to this day, but over all it's shifted. The same will happen with Islam.
Your condemnation of Islam only shows that you need to do a lot more study on the nature of religion.
