A century?
Usually a couple peaceful transfers of power are a good indication that the democracy is stable. If a democracy is going to fail it will do it pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) early on, before the masses have accepted the process of elections.
Mexico's democracy is less stable than Turkey's and they're Catholic.
