Default Colleges

I am applying to colleges soon and I would like to major in Political Science and minor in economics. Does anyone know any schools that would be good to apply to or good programs I could get involved in?

Default Consider what is at stake in the question

Dude, there's always Goergetown. Right in DC. Really, though, it depends on what you mean by political science. Do you mean you want to study US politics/being a politician... or do you want to study the theoretics behind and about politics? I think you should try and decide that before moving forward. A lot of people take classes in Political Sciences expecting to learn about elections and stuff, and in a lot of places they end up being taught Weber and Crick. I am partial to the theoretics my self, but really what you expect from "political sciences" should be clarified before you expect seriously studying political science. Considering your interest in econ, I am inclined to stereotype you as the first type of polisci.(elections and stats and stuff like that)

I completely agree. It depends on how you plan to use the degree or what in particular area (American politics, public administration, international relations, comparative politics, political theory) you plan to study. Are you seeking a bachelors degree or a graduate degree? That will make a big difference too. Please provide us with some more information so that we might be able to help you. Another issue for consideration these days is the mathematics background you have. Many programs advocate studying political science through the use of statistical models thus requiring math and computer skills.

Why not any Ivy league school or Stanford. People who go to those places always seem to be set for life.

McGill, University of British Columbia, Queen's, and the University of Toronto are also good if you feel like coming North for your degree.
