Of course you know I'll bite.

I don't know if it's racist, but it is stereotypical and assumptive. Even if a majority of downtown is hispanic (it may be for all I know), how do you know there is a strong instance of illegal ones? Wouldn't it be easier for illegals to hide amongst others who look foreign but are legal?

That is racist. You're either making assumptions based on race or showing preference to your own race, all tings equal.

Not necessarily racist... unless you bunch hispanics that don't match your belief in with those that do. Again, it might be a bit assumptive.

But most Muslims are not terrorists. So if all other data is lacking, racial profiling might make sense. But if there is no other lead, they're wasting our money... and if there's a lead on a non-Muslim, should they ignore it. Yes, profiling Muslims will lead to a smaller pool to look at then profiling the whole population. Should they also profile men? What will you think when they start using terrorists that defy the demographics? Real leads work better than racial profiling. They didn't catch those latest guys through racial profiling- especially since many were caught in Pakistan!

It makes sense if the reason is because of the crime in the area, not simply because of race. But would you hold it constant to white communities with a lot of crime.. or minority communities with less crime. But generally, police patrolling is deficient in high crime areas because it's harder to get cops to work there (less money and more risk).

Not always true. Sometimes they work hard, just not smart, as is the case with many in the working class or poor communities. I used to do the same thing. Doesn't matter how hard you work if you aren't working in the right direction. And sometimes they do indeed have fewer opportunities to work from. Also there is dynamic based on family support. For years, many blacks who made it wound up giving a lot to less fortunate family members who helped them in the past... giving their way into poverty.

Or do you just prefer a bulk of one to the bulk of the other for reasons of probability of traits?

Illegals perhaps, though it might be argued that all humans are entitled to basic rights as the philosophy of the country- just not benefits of laws... But legal immigrants? Why? Why shouldn't they have all the rights of citizens? It's also historically ignorant as it would mean many of the forefathers had no constitutional rights...

That's racist, but common and often unconcious... not something to be taken lightly, but not really all that condemnable as long as you try to ovrcome it. I'd say it's only bad if all things are equal and terrible if stereotypes are reversed- say a black man in a suit and tie vs. a white kid in ghetto clothes glaring menacingly. If you still find the black man more suspicious, you're a class-A racist.

None of these are racist.
Based on the above, overall you are a lightcore racist. If you have a problem with being racist, you should learn to judge people as individuals rather than lumping them together in stereotypes. But if you don't... nothing I can do.
