I mean, for instance, school prayer takes on a whole new light when you realize that your daughter will be one of the few non-Mormons in the class, and that she has even learned to pray in a different way/style. Whose way is "right"? Whose way is imposed on everyone else?

And if you are one of those in the minority, how would you feel?
I am even more in the minority than you are. And I am perfectly ok with it.

As a parent, it's your job to provide the necessary data to your child to allow them to put it into context. You will always have more influence over your children than the school does. Democracy is where the majority gets its way. Thats a tradeoff we all accept.

I am an atheist. But I am NOT the majority. Why should my views supersede the majority of the voting population? How is that fair?
Rule of the majority imposing its beliefs on the minority isn't fair either--which is why the U.S. is a representative republic and not a democracy. Democracy = mob rule. This not about a minority imposing on the majority; this is about a majority forcing the minority to conform to its biddings. Nobody should be forcing anybody; self-determination (aka liberty) is what this nation is supposed to be all about.

If theists want the ten commandments displayed in a courthouse, and the majority of the population in that area is Christian, who am I to deny it to them? How is it harming me?
It's an exposition of imposition on the liberties of all minorities, not just you. It's not all about you.

The quotes from founding fathers that supposedly support the separation of Church and State are frequently incomplete or taken out of context. The Founders did not have a problem with religion in government. They only had a problem with the state supporting a specific religion.
It sounds to me like you've read the First Amendment without reading Article VI. Try again.
