I don't think religion should be taught in State schools, as State schools are not there to preach religion.
I learned about the 'theory' of creation in Primary school, then, in High school, I was confused when we were taught evolution. My school was not religious, but it was decided that we should learn about religion, and sadly, we never had the option to opt out of religious studies.

Religion should only be taught in selected schools, and students should have the choice to opt out of religious studies. If religion must be taught in schools, evolution must be taught, also. |
