The basic results you get from the two main political parties are the same. Regardless of what their platforms lead you to believe, I can basically spell out what the two parties actually stand for in simple terms:

Republican Party: Increased spending- deliberate deficit spending.
Democratic Party: Increased taxation and spending.

Republican Party: Government invasion of privacy and denial of due process.
Democratic Party: State control over education and gun ownership.

Republican Party: Adding a dash of theocracy while opposing liberties like free speech and gay rights.
Democratic Party: Interfering with reverse discrimination in hiring and restricting smoking to "protect" us.

Republican Party: Destructive destruction through a mindless "bomb first and ask questions later" approach.
Democratic Party: No clear ideas on foreign policy except entanglement in the UN and treaties like the Kyoto Protocol.

Republican Party: The outcome of this party's policies is the expansion of government and a decrease in the liberties and happiness of the American people.
Democratic Party: The outcome of this party's policies is the expansion of government and a decrease in the liberties and happiness of the American people.

Why anyone would support either major party is beyond me. Granted, people like Ron Paul and members of the Democratic Freedom Caucus are exceptions, but for the most part the two major parties are statist and damage America. I would prefer the Constitution Party or the Green Party to either major political party, and, although it is too extreme on some issues, I prefer the Libertarian Party to any other American political party. I will register as an Independent, though.
