Thats a whole other debate whether Americans are that different. Even so, gun control has been implimented in some areas, without much outrage. The handgun bans in some major cities for example. The question is, if there is a unique gun culture in the US, then would this mean its a novelty to own a gun? If so, would people care if the government took them away. Some might, but they would fall into line eventually, as usually happens with these policy decisions. The NRA is a powerful lobby though, I will admit that. They need to lobby too, because gun control has real upsides (in my mind).
