I heard a news report that some adviser to the former Prime Minister of Canada has just written a book called THE WAY THINGS WORK. He was quoted as having said in this book that he heard George Bush Jr. say to the Canadian Prime Minister that he should hang somebody up by the thumbs, like they do to the guys in Guatanamo. Sounds like a pro-torture stance to me.

Anyway, it appears to be official. The United States of America approves of torture-lite. Apparently it's still informative, but less liable to create guilt feelings in its users.
