Apparently Paul Findley dared speak out and I believe he is still alive and kickin'. No fatwah on his head.
"He resides in Jacksonville, Illinois."

So why wouldn't more dare speak up about this bullying by AIPAC et al ?! How many votes can the Jewish lobby possibly deny the Rep from the 20th District of Soth Dakota ?! So where does AIPAC possibly get this leverage to use against most Reps ?! There are about 5 million or so Jews spread across the US primarily in select metropolitan areas. I would expect that AIPAC couldn't offer or detract from well over 70% of the reps' campaigns. Yet I don't see them complaining about AIPAC acting like a "700Lb Gorilla" (Paul Findley's words) !! What are they affraid of ?!
Then there is the issue of Mr. Paul Findley. Hmm ...
"Republican United States Representative from Illinois, representing its 20th District. He was first elected in 1961. Findley lost his seat in 1982"
"Paul Findley is a frequent critic of U.S. foreign policy regarding Israel."
"In 1989, Findley wrote the book "They Dare to Speak Out: People and Institutions Confront Israel's Lobby"
"Findley blames the Israeli lobby for contributing to his defeat in 1982"

So he's cool with the Jewish lobby for aproximately 21 years. Then he loses his seat and suddenly the Zionists control Congress ?! They had the power to keep you in for 21 years and snap their fingers and your seat goes poof ?! LOL. You lost, deal with it. His post ended in 82 and and in 89 he publishes a book condeming the same group he blames for his loss. Very unbiased I'm certain. In fact the NY Times describes the book as ...
"little more than a stringing together of stray incidents". (In all fairness, "The Washington Post described Findley's message, that Israeli influence in the US is strong, as "straightforward and valid." ... although I don't see how as their are only 5 million Jews in the entire USofA. What is the root of this "power" ?!).

Let's see what Paul actually speaks of ...
(All quotes from WikiPedia link posted above)
"A year after the September 11 attack, Findley published an article saying that this attack would never have occurred were it not for uncritical U.S. support of Israel."
Ossama might disagree. He states that their are 3 reasons why a fatwah is issued against the US. Israel support is just one of them. Another is Americans daring to set foot on holy Arabian land (Saudi Arabia specifically). Something about plundering it's riches. And 1 more reason I forget. So we know why this happened. Israel figures in only partly.
"U.S. policy on the Mideast is made in Israel, not in Washington,"
And yet it is made in Washington. There has not been a single administration since 48 that has been anti-Israel. Are they all blackmailed by the pro-Israel lobby ?!
"once beloved worldwide, the U.S. government finds itself reviled in most countries because it provides unconditional support of Israeli violations of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the precepts of all major religious faiths."
The US has pushed around Latin American countries for over a century. Chavez and a pro-coca farmer where not elected because of the US support of Israel. Vietnam and Korea where used to wage the war against those commies. Heck, nuked Japan .. twice. Euope has a tradition of luke warmness towards the US (think "ugly American") and is becoming more and more Muslem. Africa is heading Muslem as well + that slavery thing might have ticked them off. Australia kinda likes the US still .. I think. So blaming the US's image issue on Israel might be a bit overstating it.
"They defeat legislators who criticize Israel. Senators Adlai Stevenson and Charles Percy, and Reps. Pete McCloskey, Cynthia McKinney, Earl F. Hilliard, and myself were defeated at the polls by candidates heavily financed by pro-Israel forces."
So it all comes down to money ?! Israel is buying representatives ?! Only problem is that the reprsentative who beat Paul is still the Rep. That's 1982 to the present. Longer that Paul served. Maybe this guy is just a good rep ?! You lost to the better man Paul ... get over it !!
