So the only reason you oppose referedums, is bececause of possible overuse?

I assume you also oppose food consumption?
"referedums"? never heard of one - I do oppose the overuse of Referendums.

No I love food consumption - I was gathering grapes from my greenhouse and apples from my orchard earlier today and I intend with my friends to eat the lot, they will go nicely with my dry cured ham that has been hanging in my porch for nearly a year now. yum yum .....

Voting is a right, compulsory voting forces people to vote.
Stateing the obvious there!!!

I originally said "(Although I may go for compulsary voting)" so I may go for eating chips, I may go to Iceland - I am open to debate on this issue -maybe!!

I only get the oppertunity to do that every four/five years. That is plenty of time for the State to make bad decisions.
That is the voting system we have in place - we do not hold referendums on every major issue - we vote the Government , they make the decisions and we either agree or compalain and protest, until the next election. I do not wish to have referendums on every issue that creates public debate.

And just what exactly are 'State like decisions'?
Going to war in Iraq is an example of a state-like decision.
