Default Communism and Socialism

I know that Communism and Socialism are very similar, but I don't know the differences, does anyone know?

There are only textbook definitions of either. The world never works like textbooks imply, but communism is supposed to be a pure form of socialism, where private property does not exist. Socialism comes in degrees. For example, if all the hospitals in a country are owned by the state, you might say that country is socialist. This is opposed to pure capitalism, where all property is private.

They are one and the same. I would suggest you read the 'Communist Manifesto'. I have, and I am still laughing at Marx.

Communism and Socialism.

Communism is the foundation of the LEFT OR the Socialist left.
There were those communists who liked some capitalist features, and embraced the capitalist culture, but never changed, they still remained communists. the communist name sounded too harsh, so they changed to Socialism.

Example;
Every socialist party of the Eastern Europe was The State Communist Party of that country that ruled for 40 years. They just changed the color, not the behavior.

Actually socialism is older than communism.
Prior to Marx, there was "Utopian Socialism". Marx found those ideas unrealistic and critiqued them.
Basically after Marx, all socialists came around to a more Marxist way of looking at things.

The main textbook definition is that communism is supposed to come about just like Marx said... through evolution of the economy, the spread of capitalism, problems of capitalism becoming obvious, and the workers ultimately leading a revolution against the owners.
Socialists apply the critiques of capitalism but choose to do it without revolution by working within the system.
