Partnering first with Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), and then with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.[73]

For having such little experience, Obama appears to have worked extensively with republicans and John McCain in particular, appearing as co-sponsor on two bills with him.
That's what makes Obama and McCain both decent choices; they are independents who only register under the Democrat/Republican labels because they're smart enough to know that's the only way to stay competitive in the national game.

Considering how often Obama has worked hand in hand with republicans to push for positive change that we suits all parties, to call him "far-left" or "extremist" is an act of completely ignoring his political record.

His political record is the most liberal in the Senate.
His policy stances are Far Left or at best Liberal.

Calling him what he is seems to upset his supporters.
Can they not support what Obama really is?

Only real "centrist" or "independent" in this race is John McCain.

Obama's title as most liberal senator:

He is #1 while Hillary is #16. Out of 267 votes, they differed on 10. Joe Biden was #3. This list is as accurate as the U.S. News & World Report's college list. See the following blog on why the National Journal's stats are misleading:

http://www.mostliberalsenator.blogspot.com/

"Of the 65 votes included in the study that both senators were present for, they only differed twice — on a measure that sought to establish an Office of Public Integrity to handle ethics complaints (Clinton voted no, Obama yes), and on a measure that sought to allow certain immigrants to stay in the united states while renewing their visas (again, Clinton voted no and Obama yes)."

Where do you get that fiction? He has a socialized health care system for which he hasn't woked out the finances, and the consequent rationing of health care isn't "practical".

Obama has so much more potential to be the turning point we need to steer away from the disaster we're currently headed towards (with the increasing wars, distance between rich and poor, and cost of health care and living expenses).
How is he going to do anything about living expenses? You're just hallucinating.

But I still respect McCain; he simply doesn't possess Obama's political talent, fresh ideas,
Obama is nothing more than a standard far left liberal. WHAT "fresh ideas"? Does "fresh" necessarily mean "good"? The only "fresh" idea I ever heard him connected with was infanticide.

P-did is like the typical Obamoonie - they use vague phrases to describe Obama like "fresh ideas", they claim he'll do magic things for which there isn't a shred of supporting evidence, they have all the irrational groundless faith of cult followers.
