If You Were a Filmmaker...
If I could pick out one career, it would be that of a filmmaker who wrote, directed and produced my own films. I'd even be willing to tolerate Hollywood egos to do this. I value art very highly, and I see motion pictures as potentially being the greatest art form, encompassing as they do images, movement and sound.
If I were a filmmaker, I would make suspense films about disturbing metaphysical concepts, such as the meaning of death, the possibility of fate, deep inner conflicts, flaws in human nature and the inescapable negative consequences of evil. They would contain many analogies and much symbolism about philosophical and religious questions. My films would never be "fun" or "fluffy" and they wouldn't have happy endings. (Returning to reality here) Since I'm not rich and I don't have "connections", this will never happen, however, so I am simply daydreaming. If you were a filmmaker with full creative control, what kind of motion pictures would you make? I appreciate all replies. Thank you very much.
