I read in Time magazine for the week of November 13, about the free state project. It is a proposal by Libertarians to create a political haven that will dominate part of New Hampshire. Their ideal goal is to eventually attract 20,000 people. Only 100 have moved and 500 have promised to move by 2008. While it is a lofty goal, it is also a pretty brilliant idea and goes along with the idea that people could dominate geographical areas based on political belief, thereby challenging the two party system and encouraging local governance. In the age of information these kind of things seem more likely as the internet allows people of similar beliefs to come together in one area.
What does everyone think?
