Default Never Been about the U.S.

It's never been about the U.S. with bin Laden. It's always been about Palestinians and getting the Jews out of there.

""Palestine cannot be retaken by negotiations and dialogue, but with fire and iron," he said."

Then he urges the Palestinians to come join the fight in Iraq:

"Bin Laden added that Palestinians who are unable to fight in the "land of Al-Quds" — a Muslim reference to Jerusalem — should join the al-Qaida fight in Iraq.

"The nearest field of jihad today to support our people in Palestine is the Iraqi field," he said."

"Palestine will not return to us with the negotiations by the submissive rulers, their conferences, nor by demonstrations and elections," bin Laden said. "Palestine will come back to us if we awaken from our ignorance and adhere to our religion and sacrifice our lives and means to it."

It's always been about the Palestine issue and getting those nasty Jews out of the Middle East!!

I really wish you'd stop lying. I blame the U.S. government. The government and the country are not the same thing. Now please stop lying.

Quote:
Oh, so now you're moving the goalsposts.
No, I'm merely adding further specifications because you are trying to weasel out of your position. You were the one pretending that France wasn't obligated by alliance to attack anyone who attacks the U.S., and vice versa.

Quote:
Yes, I do. We did NOT fund bin Laden.
The U.S. government did indeed fund Bin Laden and turned him into what he is today.

Quote:
The fact that he might have benefitted from that in some way, was not something we could have forseen.
Yes, it is something a wise person can foresee. You will lay no blame at the feet of the U.S. government for ANYTHING. You would absolve them of everything and hold them responsible for NOTHING. One can look at Switzerland's foreign policy and see that Switzerland does not go around creating enemies that come back to attack them. It's not rocket science, but it does require one being intellectually honest.

Quote:
Had we been able to do so---I doubt very seriously that Democrat Congressman Charlie Wilson would have funded the shoulder-fired missiles and taught them how to bring down Soviet helicopters.
The Soviets never could have afforded to hold the country anyway - just as we cannot afford to hold Iraq - and we are far richer than the Soviets ever were.

Quote:
Okay. Let's see what would happen then. I recall very clearly the Dems/liberals and the rest of the world severely condemned Pres. Bush for not getting involved in the Middle East right away when he took office.
Quote:
So, are you saying you were different.....that you supported his actions?
No, I didn't support his actions. Because he kept funding dictators and regimes in the Middle East that oppressed their people, like the Saudis. He kept giving weapons and money to other countries, and he kept troops in the Middle East. Bin Laden cited all of these things as reasons required for his jihad.

Quote:
And guess who would be expected to furnish the largest amounts of troops? That would be the U.S. So, we'd still be involved. You simply want some international group to direct our military instead of the Pres. of the U.S.
Again, with your Straw Men. No, this group would have to be composed of an EQUAL number of troops from all countries, or it won't work. If the U.S. is overly involved in it, it will fail. It must be seen as a purely international force for international crime.

Quote:
So, we do what? We sit back and do nothing and wait for the next attack?
There won't be another attack if we completely leave the region and stop giving money to other governments there. They are attacking us precisely because of the reasons Bin Laden gave in his fatwa. No more, no less.

Quote:
We go back off the offensive like before 9/11? We KNOW their intentions; they've made it very clear. The formally declared war on us in about 1995 and we paid no attention.
Now here's where you just trapped yourself. You want to accept a formal declaration of war from a non-nation state - yet you don't want to consider their offer of truce or the reasons they cited for the attack. I'd say this clearly makes you a disingenuous fraud concerned solely with getting revenge and fomenting as much hate and death against them as possible. You're a war cheerleader. You want to sit in stands waving your pom-poms shouting "kill! kill! kill!" "Slaughter them all!!! Rah, rah, rah!!!" "Go team go, bomb the women and children too if we have to!" "Their lives don't matter!!!" "Kill! kill! kill!"

Quote:
One of the final conclusions in the 9/11 Commission was that "they were at war with us; but we weren't at war with them." And also that "we failed to connect the dots." We cannot sit back, not be involved and accomplish either of those previous failures.
ROTFL. The 9/11 commission was a complete and total fraud. They still refuse to answer over 70% of the questions posed to them by the surviving family members of those killed on 9/11. Some commission...

No, for taking away our freedoms, you pretty much have to look at our government at home in the U.S. They're taking away our freedoms in the name of protecting them.

But I'm not actually scared of them, either, 'cause they can't take away our freedoms either. Freedom can only be given away and I don't intend to surrender it.
He and his terrorist organisation has already, amongst others, taken the freedom of 3000+ people on 9/11.

The aim of Al-Qaeda is to introduce fundemental Islamic States across the World by force if needs be.

The only reason for you not to be afraid is because the Bush administration has committed the US and supported by many allies to actively fighting against the Al-Qaeda terrorists anywhere they can be found.

But although I say you should not be afraid - you should remain concerned. You should support your Countries attempts to help protect us personally and the systems that we depend upon from the terrorist threats. Al-Qeada is currently on the run, but not yet defeated....
