What does that say about you then Righty?? I am a Libertarian and I agree with the Republicans alot of the time. I am for having the military on the border, I am for pulling out of the United Nations, I am for the right to own a gun, I am for religious freedom, and the ability to express that religious freedom in public. I despise socialism, I am FOR the death penalty, I am AGAINST late term abortions, I am for smaller government, and lower taxes, and above all else I am proud to be an American and I believe this is the greatest nation on the planet.

Now how many of those things do YOU disagree with?? There are varying degrees to being a libertarian.

Now some of the other things I support you obviously wouldnt. I am for allowing gay marriage, I am for the legalization of Marijuana (not other drugs, just pot) I support a womans right to choose if its early in the pregnancy, even though I HATE abortions and think they are wrong (like I said im against late term abortions) and I believe our military should mainly be used to protect American interests and its citizens. Not as the worlds police force.

So based on all of that I think its fair to say I lean towards the right. There are more conservative Libertarians, and more liberal ones. Obviously you are trying to judge something that you know nothing about.

Getting back on topic I think its a good idea to do what these Libertarians are doing. However being realistic I doubt that they will be able to get enough people to move to truly make a difference. I mean I dont necessarily enjoy living in Utah, however when I move im not going to be moving to New Hampshire. Yeah I would like to live in a Libertarian community, however I want to go to a state that I actually want to live in.

I still believe that there has got to be a better way to get people voting for 3rd party candidates. I think educating people about the belief system of 3rd parties is the best way to start. I mean honestly what do most people know about Libertarians besides "they want to legalize drugs" Seriously that is all most people actually think about us, when that is only one tiny, small issue. Much more important then that on the agenda is that we want smaller government. I think alot of disinfranchised Republicans would actually find the Libertarian party appealing if they looked past the one issue (drugs) and paid attention to the rest of it. On the flip side I think alot of really moderate Liberals would find that they are attracted to the Libertarian party as well if they looked past a few of the more conservative things.
