Default Woman calls for decriminalization of nonviolent rapes

A CA woman has called for decriminalization of nonviolent rapes saying that nonviolent rapists get prison sentences that take money from the poor. She prefers that a nonviolent rapist pay $15,000 in court to victim.

I don't have a link; I heard this on radio. A nonviolent rape like when a daterape drug is used to make a victim unconscious so the rapist can have his/her way with that victim without the use of force; force is like hitting that victim into submission.

I would also guess consensual statitory rape would fall in there. As well as cases where the people are just drunk enough that their judgement was cloudy.

I don't know if I would differentiate but I would say that violent, date rape drug/unconsious, just drunk, and consensual but underaged should all be handled somewhat differently. Though I would think they already would be to some degree.

How could an unconscious victim that became conscious identify the rapist?

They probably knew who they were hanging out with ahead of time. And other people might have seen something.

Back in the day that might not have been enough to go on but these days you can just swab the inside cheek of everybody in the fraternity, test the DNA, and there you go.

Or save on the tests and just catch the guy who tries to skip the testing.

I agree, raping someone who's unconcious hardly defines you as the hardened criminals we want to keep in prison. A waste of tax payer money.

I can see a lot of 16 year olds getting 15 grand out of their adult boyfriends.
