US forces in Iraq, on the other hand, are members of an occupying army in a foreign country - in popular insurrection, legitimate targets.
And if the attack was carried out by Iranian intelligence---and most suspect it was---- then such Iranians are legitimate targets as well. Therefore, I would like to see the NYTimes stop acting as if Bush's statements about going after Iranians who are inside Iraq fighting our troops as something he shouldn't be doing.
