The uniqueness of such a phenomenon as us, the tendency to become used to those things which are constantly around us, and the existence of god, are all pretty unrelated to one another. |

I agree with you in theory that alot of the big bang theory type of stuff is complete b.s. Now im an Atheist and im agreeing with you because you made a valid point. Now return the favor please and admit that what im going to say sounds equally ridiculous.... A supernatural being created the world in a few days....A few thousand years ago. Thats all im going to say because that is the part of religion that IS proven to be totally false. Science can prove that the Earth was "created" billions of years ago. And no the current creatures, including human beings weren't the first inhabitants of this planet...Clearly the religious texts leave out the era of the Dinosaurs which completely dwarfs human existence on this planet so far. I am an Atheist who was once VERY religious. I will admit that there are flaws in my beliefs and the big bang theory and what not. Clearly SOMETHING created the Asteroids or giant rocks or whatever that created everything in the first place. Clearly there was just emptiness at SOME point in the history of the entire world and Universe and then SOMETHING happened. Science cant prove what happened between nothingness and rocks crashing into each other to create life. However it CAN in essence disprove much of what is written in all popular religious texts that are out there. History disproves a lot of it as well. So that is the only part I will argue with Religious people is that if they believe 100% in the bible or whatever their religious text is, then they are ignoring history and science and in that case ignoring logic and fact. However thats not to say that you are wrong either. Simply put there COULD be something out there. But its pretty obviously not something that any of us understand. Maybe Jesus Christ IS the son of God......But that God didnt create the world in a week and only a few thousand years ago. And it didnt start with Adam and Eve.

There's a difference. Science is corrected over time. Scientists are humans whose observations, hypotheses, and sometimes theories can be flawed. That is, in fact, why we have scientific method.

Scientists are often wrong about any hypothesis they put forward. Tests by other scientists bring it crashing to the ground. This is expected and underscores the wonderful self-correcting nature of Science. It is, however, rare that a hypothesis passes the testing stage unscathed, is widely accepted and then shown to be wrong. In fact I can't think of a single example. Could you name one instance?

A supernatural being created the world in a few days....A few thousand years ago. I don't believe that, because there is no real solid proof that the bible even gives any real tangible proof or evidence to think that the world started 6 thousand years ago. at least I have never seen the evidence in the bible. So it depends on who your talking to. I believe the world is older then we think, and I also believe that the Universe could be about 13 to 15 Billion years old if not older. and I believe in life elsewhere, as well. and I believe that the creator is in another dimension. was, and always will be. But I don't think that man just came to be on it's own. and I believe god wrote the rules for the universe and all things came from those already set and created rules, which we call thermal dynamics, as well as other theories we know to be true. ...
