The common motive seems to be a more populist one. You put both life and economic efficiency ahead of liberty, but believe that all things which do not get in the way of those are fine. Your life ethic is above economic efficiency in that you are willing to break with efficiency to preserve life, which seperates you from fascist-types and the far, far right.
The irony is that you are likely to support a lot of libertarian policies all the while disagreeing on the fundamentals of their philosophy which puts liberty above life and efficiency.
Your attitudes seem more in line with conservative Democrats and religious conservatives... but you're more interested in seeking information that challenges your preconceived notions, leading you to some dramatic differences.
