Comment about elitism--you don't cover enough kinds of it in your article. There's some good types of elitism, believe it or not, and that would be skill level, knowledge level, seniority, tho I hesitate to use the term "seniority" in terms of a labor union because I've seen that abused as a reason to get paid for doing nothing...like it is with "tenure". Guilds of old were corrupt, as well, and abusive.

The irrefutable fact is that different people have different levels of skill, and in an "ideal society" (I'm sorry, but that phrase immediately turns off all of us who know darn well nothing is ever ideal, that corruption sets in over time--the longer the time, the higher the level of corruption)...in an "ideal society", those of senior level or mastery level skills would also teach. The less actually productive they become as they age, the more time would be better spent teaching.

Disagree also with your assessment of democracy where all are equal--I still believe that's mob rule and I'll defend the greater virtues of a representative republic because tho we're all equal in a one-man-one-vote sense, we're all very different indivuduals. Where a group of individuals can live differently than another group of individuals but still have equal impact on government, that's more fair than a bigger group dominating a smaller group. Each can live the way they choose without dictating to the other.

When ya live like you want to and your neighbors can live like they want to and nobody's rights steamroller anybody else's rights, THAT'S what real liberty's all about.
