While I could not find a source for that quote, certainly does not mean he didnt speak those words. There is in fact a nice quote which more or less sums it up as well.
We paid a high price but so did you [Americans]... not only in lives and materiel.... Do not forget the war was brought into the living rooms of the American people. ... The most important result of the Ted offensive was it made you de-escalate the bombing, and it brought you to the negotiation table. It was, therefore, a victory....
The war was fought on many fronts. At that time the most important one was American public opinion.
OK so now once again we have the good General telling us that public opinion garnered from misinformation that was brought into 'living rooms' of Americans, presumably by the US media, was the impetus for deescalation ,which is more or less what the last quote mentioned.
The differences in the two wars are still night and day and the fact the media was playing a role in the eventual outcome (the subject of the thread) is undeniable.Your hairsplitting does little to augment your RETARDED assertion that the Iraq War and Nam are in any way shape or form similar.
In fact the snopes link you provided like most 'debunking' sites provides more ammo, quotes from another VN officer stating the same thing regarding the medias/anitwar role in the 'loss'.
Sorry.
