The fact the their indiginous language survived at all is amazing given the "English only" "schools" that the white man forced on the tribes. Lets see we stole their land, attempted this type of BS once before to the extentt that we coerced, forced and at times kidnapped their children and forced them to change their names and their language and sever all ties with the "reservation indians" otherwise known as their families while training them for jobs that would never come because of "white" only laws. Blah blah blah. The indians came in successive waves, each one plundering the land of the last. Whoever was on the land when the whites showed up was just the last in a long succession of thieves. I'm of english, irish, scots, italian, and german descent - and I don't give a crap about anyone preserving those cultures. If the indians want to preserve their culture from hundreds of years ago and live in the past, fine but do it on their own time and their own dime.

No, they aren't the only ones - I was born in this country - you are misusing language. The U.S. doesn't grant, or at least shouldn't grant, any special status to anyone depending on how long their ancestors were here. We already have one class of super-citizens - blacks - we don't need more. And "native american" is another one of those silly ass lib PC semantic inventions - "America" is a geopolitical entity invented by persons of european descent - it has NOTHING to do with indians. |
