Default ... Ok the Limeys' stumped me here.

Now let me get one thing straight: I like Britain. They're one of the few dependable allies on a continent that's fast going to hell, and the only reason I say Limey is it sounds funy.

However, they've stumped me here, unless I don't have something straight and that's where I was wondering if you guys could come in.

See the way I understand it is they basically b****ed Blair out of his office over (at least what I thought was the main reason) his handeling of the MET (figure we might as well start naming theaters ). Now this Brown is in and he's praising Bush. Now unless he's some re-nigging politician (but hey name one that isn't) it just sounds funy that he's Parliment's replacement for a (universally considered) failure.

Is there a bigger picture that I'm not seeing or does this sound funy to anyone else as well?

Maybe supporting Bush is not the only issue in the United Kingdom?

Maybe the actions Brown have taken to show Bush support are different from those taken by Blair, and the Brits are happier with Brown's style?

Well for one thing the primary political competition, the Tories (conservative party) also back the war as I understand it.

So it sort of comes down to the details of how one party of the other would handle the war.

Also Iraq is costing the UK something like 1/100th what it costs the US while their GDP is something like a seventh.
