First, the British did what they are suppose to do. Their area, Southern Iraq, is relatively secure. Theres minimal violence or civil war.

What else can British troops do, twiddle their thumbs while the UK government spends boatloads of money. Clearly returning them to Britain is the correct decision.

Its not amazing to have different decisions made by different governments, because the reality is they have different responsibilities and missions.
