When was Iraq DE-occupied?
Bush has been trying to get the Iraqis to take over the security while the US troops retire to enclaves and only making forays out as strategic support for the Iraqi governmental forces. That is a de-occupation.

For the re-occupation implies in the future. The proper name for the surge. Different name same thing.

As in Lyndon B Johnson's Vietnam fiasco with the US Troop build up.

The similarities to Vietnam are becoming more pronounced.
