First of all, though I am 100% pro-life, I am not a conservative (I'm also against the war and the death penalty). As for your complaints about welfare cuts, I suggest that you learn the basics of economics before you imagine that major wealth redistribution is actually beneficial to anyone- even the poor. Your main argument is on even weaker ground. By your argument, everyone opposed to murder and rape should become a police officer. If they do not, then, they are (by your logic) hypocrites. There are many pro-life people adopting, which is a very good thing, but no, they are under no inherent obligation to do so. The obligation to take care of a child is, by default, solely that of those who conceived him or her, and the only people responsible for the killing involved in abortion are those who commit it. I have an obligation not to commit evil actions, but I am under no inherent obligation to prevent all other people from doing so (that is, as far as is possible, the job of the legal system when victimization is involved). Since abortion is far from victimless, moreover, it should not be legal.
Having stated that, striking at the root of this evil is best accomplished by ending all legal restrictions on adoption. All such restrictions, in my opinion, are assertions that children are property of the state. I strongly favor gay adoption as well. The government should never get in the way of such solutions, but blaming society's bystanders with a "why didn't you stop me?" attitude is an attempt to escape personal responsibility.
