But they're helpless to defend themselves and we only get a sick personal feeling of superiority from tipping them, which we could get robbing small children and also get something in the process.

Cow tipping the traditional way is not going to happen.

Cows sleep laying down. They doze standing up, which means they are easily roused, and you are not going to sneak up on them.

But let us pretend that they do sleep standing up. Let us look at the physics of it.

Sorry boys and girls, this is a myth, and nothing more. I spent the better part of my younger years in the corn fields of Iowa and tried on numerous occasions. It just does not happen the way stated for the reasons stated above. We did however train a cow to stand there while we ran at it. It worked, but not in the traditional sense. It also hurt a lot.
